Executive Summary
1. Introduction:
This Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) provides policy, strategy, process andprocedures to understand the resettlement principles, organizational arrangements and design criteria to be applied to meet the needs of the people who may be affected by the project activities of the Strategic Road Connectivity and Trade Improvement Project (SRCTIP)-Trade Facilitation Component. The Trade Facilitation Component of SRCTIP will be implemented by the Ministry of the Industry Commerce and Supply (MoICS) and Ministry of the Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD), and funded by the World Bank. This RPF has prepared the relevant strategies in full compliance with Government of Nepal (GON) Acts and policies, and Environmental and Social Standard (ESS) 5 Land Acquisition, Restrictions on Land Use, and Involuntary Resettlement of the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF).
