1. Introduction
This Resettlement Policy Framework (RPF) provides policy, strategy, process and procedures to understand the resettlement principles, organizational arrangements and design criteria to be applied to meet the needs of the people who may be affected by the project activities resulting due to land acquisition, loss of shelter, assets or livelihoods, business and/or loss of access to economic resources. This RPF has
prepared relevant strategies in full compliance with Government of Nepal (GON) and World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework, specific objectives of Environmental and Socials Standard 5.
This RPF will be applicable for Strategic Road Connectivity and Trade ImprovementProject (SRCTIP) – Trade Facilitation Component implemented by the Ministry of the Industry Commerce and Supply (MoICS) and Ministry of the Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) and funded by the World Bank.
